Overview
A documentary that explores the strange fate of what many critics called one of the worst films ever made. Showgirls was released in 1995 to universal critical scorn. It was a bona fide box office disaster. It ruined the career of popular child TV actress Elizabeth Berkley in her first major adult role on the big screen. However, Showgirls has lived on to gain a bizarre cult status. All aspects of Showgirls are explored, from writing to directing, in an attempt to explain what gives this widely-considered awful film an afterlife that just keeps on going.
