Four African American Vietnam veterans return to the southeast Asian nation where they fought in the bloody conflict of the 1960s and '70s. They are seeking the remains of their buddy and squad leader who was killed in combat. But they also are looking for a stashed cache of gold. The four men find themselves locked in an intensely dangerous situation in which they must battle both man and nature if they hope to achieve their mission and get back out alive. Themes of immortality and the brutality of an unjust war play out as the men struggle for their lives. |
