Overview
In 1988, a young blue-collar worker named Buddy is struggling with financial and relationship problems: His baby girl has major health issues and his marriage is under a lot of stress. After a hurricane, Buddy is accused of committing murder by local police. To attempt to clear his name, he must recount to a Detective Jones everything that happened both before and during the emergency: Buddy's tale starts with the claim that a local Vietnam War veteran, Walter, and his wife, Fancy, hired him to repair a picket fence. When the storm arrived, Buddy couldn't start his truck or reach anyone by telephone. Forced to stay with the couple overnight, Buddy soon discovered that they were horrific and evil people...
