What if you woke up one morning and had a huge energy corporation offering to lease your property for more money than you had ever seen? There is a theory that the United States sits on the single largest natural gas supply in the world that could shift the entire balance of power in the energy world. The contractor Halliburton developed a process call fracking that is supposed to be able to extract the gas and allow America to take advantage of its abundant natural resources. But when communities allow energy companies to dig in their backyards, they quickly come to regret it. The debate over fracking begins and it gets personal and violent at times. |
