Overview
Jimmy Shive-Overly and Gretchen Cutler might be considered the worst kind of people. Jimmy, a writer who supports himself by writing glossy mag pieces and receiving small royalty checks from a novel that hasn't done particularly well, acts selfish and insensitive most of the time. He says the wrong things and causes offense. Gretchen, a music public relations professional, has similar problems coupled with clinical depression and some very bad habits. After the two cross paths at a wedding, they decide to have a one-night stand and agree to casual future hookups. Over time, they fall in love. Can two extremely unhealthy people who thrive on cynicism, chaos and self-destruction ever create a stable relationship?
