Overview
As refugees increase in number in countries throughout the world, the toll that the migration takes on the actual refugees is hard. From having to avoid drowning as they cross open waters to having to figure out a way to cross borders without losing their lives, these refugees see the darkness of the world as they search for freedom in a new home. One year of the lives of these refugees is documented across 23 different countries. The human spirit is studied as the refugees all try to find acceptance in societies that struggle to receive anyone who is different.
