Overview
Christopher Columbus has a vision. He believes the world is round and that ships could travel to Asia much faster going westward. Unfortunately, most of the Catholic priests and scholars in the 1400s disapprove of Columbus' unorthodox ideas. It isn't until Columbus curries favor with Spain's beautiful Queen Isabella I that he is able to fund an epic voyage westward. To Columbus' shock, he doesn't arrive in Asia. Instead, he arrives in the 'New World.' As Columbus and his crewmates disembark on the sandy shores of Guanahani, they quickly start colonizing and converting the locals. When he returns to Spain after this first expedition, Columbus brings back gold, spices, and tales of exotic wonder.
