Long estranged from her family, Franny is an archaeologist in the middle of a dig. That is, until a phone call urges her home to Brooklyn. Her brother Henry is comatose following an accident, and, despite their past differences, Franny returns to support her mother at his bedside. Searching Henry's journals, Franny discovers a brother she never knew, whose favorite singer is James Forester. Backstage at a concert, Franny recounts Henry's situation to Forester. Moved by the story and believing his music might awaken Henry, the singer shows up at the hospital. Drawn together to assist Henry, the two must also confront their own personal struggles.
