Overview
Happy Valley takes an in-depth look at Penn State University staff, including the rise and fall of school’s esteemed football program. Jerry Sandusky, assistant coach under iconic Joe Paterno, was charged with 40 counts of child sex abuse in 2011. A national audience questioned if Sandusky’s victims were unprotected in the name of football. Happy Valley explores the stories of those closest to the scandal in an effort to determine if Sandusky’s crimes were an open secret in a football-focused community willing to protect celebrated football traditions at any cost.
