Overview
While working in the fields, a bamboo cutter named Okina comes across a glowing bamboo shoot. When he cuts it open, he discovers a tiny girl named Kaguya inside. He takes the girl home, where he and his wife, Ona, raise her. Kaguya grows into a beautiful woman, and when Okina finds gold near the glowing bamboo shoot, he is convinced Kaguya is of royal lineage. But Kaguya is more than mere royalty. The secrets of her past are about to be revealed. When they are, Kaguya's life, and the lives of her adoptive parents, will change forever.
