Overview
Ahlo, a young boy in rural Laos, is accused of bringing misfortune to the people around him, and the locals blame him for recent natural disasters. One of the disasters forces his family out of their home, and the group is forced to cross the war-torn countryside to find a new home. Along the way, the family meets a young orphan and her uncle. Ahlo, in a desperate bid to prove that he does not bring bad luck, builds a large rocket for the Rocket Festival.
