Richie and Melissa live a life that is hanging on by a financial thread. Richie is a paraplegic who does what he can to get around, but he requires constant attention. His girlfriend Melissa works at a local convenience story and makes just enough money for the couple to live in a rundown motel with transients and criminals. Through what can only be described as a miracle, the couple learns that Melissa is pregnant and they are going to have a baby. The joy of the discover is short-lived when Melissa loses her job and the couple are thrown out of the motel and into the streets. Now they have to find a way to dig the American dream out of the rubble that has become their lives. |
