Overview
Humble hobbit Bilbo Baggins has begun to prove his worth as a member of the team of dwarfs that set out from Hobbiton to reclaim a stolen treasure from a ferocious dragon. However, many obstacles still lie between them and the treasure. What's more, the sage wizard Gandalf, who has served as their guide, has matters of his own to attend to, so they will have to face the dreaded Mirkwood Forest without him. Surviving the forest with its vicious spiders and sinister elves is difficult enough, but even if Bilbo can get them all out in one piece, the dragon, Smaug, still awaits them. Moreover, as the company's burglar, the task falls to Bilbo to somehow go about getting the treasure back from Smaug.
