Everyone knows the story of the American basketball Dream Team and their quest for Olympic gold. Director Marius Markevicius documents the "other" Dream Team, the Lithuanian national squad that became a powerful symbol of resistance to Soviet rule while it battled at the Barcelona 1992 games. This tale of athletic heroism recounts the training and indoctrination Soviet athletes had to go through before the collapse of the Soviet government in 1991, and the pressure the regime had once placed on sports heroes as living banners of Soviet might. But the independence-minded Lithuanians and Arvydas Sabonis, the star of the team, now carried the banner of a very different team with a very different meaning -- the quest for national independence.
