Overview
Widowed lawyer Arthur Kipps must make ends meet as he raises his young son in London. His prolonged grief has caused his work to suffer and he is on the verge of losing his job. When his boss agrees to give him one last chance, he quickly accepts the assignment. A client of the firm has died and Arthur must travel to the woman’s village to arrange the sale of her estate, Eel Marsh House. Arthur is not given a warm welcome when he arrives. It is clear that something terrible has happened there and the townsfolk do not want him to know about it. As he spends more time in Eel Marsh House, Arthur finds that it is haunted by the malevolent spirit of a woman in black. Is she connected to the town’s dark secret?
