Overview
A civil war veteran named John Carter is 'recruited' by the army in 1868. When he refuses, he's imprisoned and eventually escapes. He comes across a strange sort of medallion. When his fingers come in contact with the strange device, he's suddenly transported for another world. Here he can jump to huge heights and do things that a normal human can't do. And when he discovers a race of alien beings, he realizes that he's on Mars. Not only that, but he's a prisoner of the Martians. After escaping from them, he finds himself in line with a princess and discovers that the planet may not be as peaceful as it seems. And he might be the only one with the ability to save them.
