Overview
Based on the classic Dr. Seuss book of the same name, the computer-animated film "The Lorax" focuses on Thneed-ville resident Ted (Zac Efron), who visits the aged Once-ler (Ed Helms) in hopes of learning about the vanished tree-protecting Lorax (Danny Devito) after he discovers that his crush, Audrey (Taylor Swift), wants to see a genuine tree. While the book sticks mainly to the Once-ler's tale, using only a minimal framing device so the regretful entrepreneur can encourage the boy to restore the land, the movie finds Ted actively working to undo the damage of the tree-leveling rampant commercialism that has plagued his town. As he fights a corrupt mayor, kids can be inspired to enact environmental change in their own towns.
