Overview
Philip J. Fry is a pizza delivery boy who happens to fall into a cryogenic pod on January 1, 2000 and is frozen until he wakes 999 years later. The world has changed. The new New York has been built over the ruins of the old New York. 999 years in the future, heads can be kept alive in jars. Wheels have become obsolete and nobody recognizes the shape. Hover cars and transportation tubes are the most of transport. He finds his only living relative Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth, Fry's distant nephew, who gives him a job as a cargo delivery boy for Planet Express. Fry's friends are Turanga Leela who is Fry's one-eyed love interest and Bender who is an rude, foul-mouthed robot. She's the captain of a ship owned by the Planet Express. Bender bends steel for the suicide booths across the city.
