Trailer | Overview The lives of two families of large cats on the vast plains of Kenya are chronicled. A pride of lions and a coalition of cheetahs struggle to survive on grassland territory naturally divided by a river. As the seasons change, fluctuations in the water level of the river affect territorial relationships between the cats and other animals. A lion mother prepares her one cub to eventually survive on its own, and a cheetah mother of five cubs is able to eventually see three of them reach adulthood. The male pride leader is driven from power as the water level drops, allowing the arrival of rivals. Water crocodiles and ruthless hyenas present ongoing challenges to cubs, and the cats demonstrate abilities to nurture family relationships. |
