Overview
In mid-sixties California, Andy Nichol is a bright but shy 12 year old junior high school student. Like many teens, Andy avoids having any conflict with his peers so that he will not have to suffer at the hands of ridicule from other students. However, much to Andy's chagrin, his teacher, Mr. Simon, sets him up with the school's most ridiculed kid, Big G, on a school project. In time, Andy learns that Big G is actually a very brilliant student and far more tolerant than anyone he has ever met before. Also, Andy is further surprised when Big G confronts the main school bully fearlessly. In the end, Andy learns that professor Simon had intended to team him up with Big G to benefit both of them.
