Overview
The successful X-Men franchise takes a journey into the past with X-Men: First Class. Chronicling the early days of Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr (Michael Fassbender), this movie dives deeply into the meeting, friendship and eventual estrangement that turned them into Professor X and Magneto, two of DC's biggest rivals. As the Cuban Missile Crisis looms on the horizon, both men are forced to take a stance on war and peace, exposing deep fears, long-held prejudices and complicated relationships with power players like Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), the blue-skinned mutant who begins to question her place in the "normal" world, and Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon), the Nazi nihilist who wants nothing more than complete nuclear destruction. War is coming, and in X-Men: First Class, humans and mutants alike will have to choose a side.
