'Operation Market Garden' was an attempt by the Allies to quickly end the war in Europe in World War II. The Allies dropped 35,000 airborne troops far behind enemy lines. Their mission was to capture several bridges, preventing the Germans from escaping from the Netherlands and back to Germany. After the Allies capture and hold several bridges, they reach the last, critical bridge at Arnhem where a group of Allied soldiers is cut off and surrounded by the Germans. Watching thousands of brave airborne soldiers dropping in the night, many to their deaths, is mesmerizing. The battle scenes illustrate the chaos of war and the struggles and valor of the individual soldiers.
