Overview
Carlito Brigante is a former Puerto Rican drug dealer who, after being released from prison, vows to go straight and turn his life around. He starts a successful night club but soon realizes that putting his past behind him may not be as easy as he thinks. Shady friends from his criminal past show up, attempting to lure Carlito back into his old ways, and a vindictive prosecutor stalks him, believing that a leopard cannot change his spots. Determined to lead a straight life, Carlito rekindles a romance with a woman from his past, planning a rosy future for the two of them. But when Carlito's sleazy lawyer ensnares him in dangerous scheme involving the mafia, his plans may be put on hold.
