Overview
Becky Fuller is a workaholic TV producer who loses her job abruptly. She's devastated and desperate to get back to work, and she manages to land a gig as the producer of the failing morning show "Daybreak." The ratings for this show are abysmal, and it will soon have to be cancelled unless Becky can pull off an amazing turnaround. She wastes no time doing what she can to improve the show's prospects. The first day on the job, she fires a longtime reporter who is a misogynist, much to the approval of his coworkers. However, that leaves a slot open, and she must find a replacement. She settles on acerbic retiree Mike Pomeroy, a legendary newscaster, but getting him to cooperate won't be easy.
