Overview
Tracey Turnblatt is obsessed with getting on the local music show The Corny Collins Dance Show in 1960's Baltimore. When she finally does get on the show, she is an instant hit and becomes a regular dancer. Tracey decides to use her new found fame to push for integration on the show. This infuriates Amber, the former star of the show, and her racist parents. Things come to a head when the two young women both decide to compete in a beauty contest.
