The two Castillo brothers, successful musicians in Havana, Cuba, find themselves on the wrong side of the law after angering the wrong people, and decide to leave the country for New York's music scene. They find working class jobs in the meat industry, but have dreams of breaking into the Latin music world. One night they attend a performance by Tito Puente in a night club, and one of the brothers jumps onto the stage and joins in. He makes an impression, and the two brothers are eventually able to form their own band. Memories of Havana, the trials and tribulations of their music careers in New York, and their romantic interludes with women they meet while performing all make for an energetic, music-filled story. |
