Trailer | Overview Whenever the July 4 holiday rolls around, documentary filmmaker Michael Malone finds his angry dissent overcoming any stirrings of patriotism. He's not much for barbecue and fireworks, and he'd just as soon get rid of the holiday altogether. Even family ties can't overcome his grievances, and Malone turns down a July 4 party invitation from his nephew Josh, who's getting ready to join the military in the Middle East. When he's visited by the ghost of President Kennedy, however, Malone finds himself guided through his country's history and virtues by the spirits of George Washington, General George Patton and country singer Trace Adkins. In his waking hours, Malone also faces a tough business and creative decision: whether to help a group of terrorists make an anti-American film. |
