At the age of 11, Dade Murphy is already a genius hacker who crashes over 1,500 computer systems in a day. It causes the New York Stock Exchange to drop seven points in a single day. Murphy, known as Zero Cool, is prosecuted. He's banned from computers and even telephones until the day he turns eighteen. His family is fined $45,000 for his antics. The year is 1995, Dade Murphy is a high school student but has turned eighteen. He purchases a computer, and with his new computer hacks into a television studio's computer network to change the television program. This brings him to the attention of another hacker who noticed Murphy in the station's computer system. At his new school, Murphy stumbles across a group of hackers. They test him and eventually ask him to join their club. In a fight over a girl in the group, Murphy locks into a challenge to see how reigns supreme as a super hacker. They focus on a Secret Service Agent who arrested one of their friends. In the midst of this rivalry, they find that a vicious hacker is trying to steal millions. They work to stop the hacker. |
