A group of recent high-school graduates have big dreams for their all-girl rock band, The Mystery. Following graduation, the band has plans to travel to Florida with hopes of auditioning and landing a summer-long stint at a beach club, but before they even depart, problems threatening the quest arise. From romantic considerations, future college plans and on to the unexpected loss of their transportation, The Mystery's members discover their best-laid plans may be trashed before they even begin. After finally making the trek, new problems arise in the form of miscommunication, and even after they secure the gig, issues continue to sidetrack The Mystery's future. Drugs, boyfriends, broken promises and changing aspirations seem to alter the original plan almost hourly, leading to an emotional climax that finds the band heading back home, somewhat disappointed but much wiser for the experience. |
