Overview
Tom Hansen is a seemingly happy guy. He has good friends and a good job as a greeting card writer. The only thing missing is love; but when his boss introduces the new secretary, Summer, Tom is immediately smitten. It’s not long before Tom, who wholeheartedly believes in true love, is sure that Summer is the one. When his best friend reveals to Summer that Tom has feelings for her, he finds out that she feels the opposite way about love. Summer does not believe in true love and is not interested in relationships. Nonetheless, the two begin to spend more time together and Tom falls head over heels in love. Just as things begin to get serious, though, Summer ends the relationship, leaving Tom devastated. Tom is determined to win her back and must look back over his 500 days with Summer to find out what went wrong.
