Overview
Former Confederate soldier, Ben Trane, goes to Mexico to fight in the Franco-Mexican War as a mercenary. During his travels he joins up with Joe Erin and his gang of killer gunslingers. After displaying superior marksmanship, the men are given the special task by Mexican Emperor Maximilian of safely escorting the lovely Countess Duvarre to Veracruz. Trane convinces the Emperor to double his payment for this duty. Along the way, Trane finds out that the stagecoach contains gold worth $3 million. He, Erin and the Countess conspire to steal the gold. Their plans go awry when their travelling companions grow suspicious. The gold becomes a focal point of deception and backstabbing alliances. Trane and Erin are headed for a showdown where only will end up with the riches.
