Overview
As the head basketball coach for the Western University Dolphins, Pete Bell has always done things by the book and fielded successful teams, but that formula suddenly doesn't work. The star recruits are pursuing the illicit money being doled out under the table and going to other schools. Reluctantly, Pete joins forces with a friend of the program named "Happy" and starts going after the blue chip players. He recruits Neon Bordeaux, Butch Mc Rae and Ricky Roe to his squad, and they all get secret, but illegal, benefits from Happy. The team is successful, but the guilt tugs at Pete. When he learns that a player shaved points in order to make money, he confesses at a press conference and leaves the team, and the program, in shambles.
