Overview
After writing about corruption in the city government, Chicago Sun-Times reporter Ernie Souchak is attacked by local policemen and hospitalized. The paper's editor decides that Ernie needs a safer assignment. He dispatches the reporter to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Ernie is asked to write about an ornithologist who lives in seclusion and studies eagles. She initially refuses to talk to the reporter, but they slowly fall in love. However, unpleasant developments in Chicago threaten to bring an end to their romance.
