Colonel James Braddock is captured and held captive in a North Vietnamese POW camp. The camp is run by Colonel Yin, a man who lives to torture his prisoners. He forces Braddock and his men to grow opium for Francois, a French drug kingpin, and attempts to make Braddock sign a confession admitting to a lengthy list of war crimes. When Braddock refuses to sign, he is subjected to intense humiliation and torture, including being told that his wife and left him and remarried in his absence. When one of his men falls ill with malaria and is killed by a lethal injection of opium, which Braddock was told was antibiotics, Braddock determines to escape the confines of his prison and find a way to rescue his men from the hands of their captors.
