Charlie Tuttle is a successful lawyer who is sent to Paradise Bluff, Nebraska, by his boss and future father-in-law, to get a continuance in a mail fraud case for a distant relative. The trip requires Charlie to cancel his bachelor party, but when he arrives in Nebraska, he is met by his best man, actor Richard Rjetti, who decides to bring the bachelor party to Charlie. A night of partying leaves Charlie in no shape to go to court the next morning, so Richard steps in to impersonate him. When the case unexpectedly goes to trial, Richard and Charlie must continue the charade. Complications ensue as Charlie tries to coach Richard through the case, while also finding himself rethinking his upcoming wedding after falling for a young waitress in town. |
