Overview
Harry and Sally are two college students who graduate from the University of Chicago together. They are both moving to New York so they drive there together. On the trip, they intellectually analyze it and conclude men and women cannot genuinely be friends. The movie follows the evolution of their relationship to each other as well as their individual romantic escapades and how those intersect. Over the years, they keep running into each other. At some point, they wind up good friends in spite of Harry's conviction that men and women cannot be friends. When Sally's latest romance ends, leaving her hurting, Harry finds himself in bed with her. Thereafter, they both struggle to understand and accept this change.
