Overview
Clark Griswold plans a cross-country trip to Walley World to spend more time with his wife and two kids. He buys a new station wagon for the trip and the family leaves Chicago for California. On the way, they encounter many misfortunes, like getting lost in a bad part of St. Louis, losing all of their credit cards, major car trouble, robbing a hotel, and having their Aunt Edna die during the trip to take her to her son's house. They leave her outside his house, since no one answers the door, and proceed to Walley World. The park ends up being closed, but Clark forces a security guard to let them in. Clark's passion helps him avoid arrest, and his family vacation ends happily.
