Kevin Lomax is an accomplished lawyer, and his latest case has netted him a prestigious new client. At first he and his wife Mary Ann are thrilled by the new career opportunity that has put them in a fabulous apartment and a whole new income bracket, but gradually, they begin to wonder whether they've gotten more than they bargained for. Mary Ann becomes uncomfortable first, and her mental health suffers terribly while Kevin is away doing the bidding of the mysterious but charming John Milton. Gradually, Kevin begins to see the cracks in John's veneer as well, but not before disaster strikes and he realizes that he's made some very bad choices. John, it transpires, is Lucifer himself, and his greatest weapon is human pride. |
