Overview
Author C.S. Lewis lives a quiet, peaceful existence as an academic don at Oxford. He writes and teaches, spending most of his time with friends and his brother Warnie. One day he meets Joy Gresham, an outspoken American woman who had written to Lewis to tell him how much she loved his books. When Joy’s difficult marriage comes to an end, Lewis continues to befriend her and her two sons by offering to marry Joy so that she can stay in the England she’s coming to love. Their warm friendship grows into love. By the time they realize that their marriage means far more than convenience, Joy is diagnosed with cancer. This difficult situation becomes a testing ground for Lewis’ deep faith.
