Romy and Michele have been best friends since high school. They lived on the outskirts of the popular group as they forged their own look, but longed for cute boyfriends and acceptance. Ten years later, their high school reunion is approaching. With one unemployed and the other as a cashier, Romy and Michele take it upon themselves to improve their life a few weeks before the reunion. After failing to land outstanding jobs and handsome boyfriends, the girls decide to create a story about their success. They figure that no one will be able to check their facts if they claim they invented Post-It notes. As they travel from Los Angeles to Tucson for the reunion, Romy and Michele find that the truth can hurt, but their friendship is their strength through life's roller coaster ride.
