Overview
A nine year old girl named Tina lives with her family in Rockport, Maine. One day they find a baby seal that has been orphaned, and they decide to adopt him and take care of him. They name the seal Andre, and he and Tina become close friends as the little girl cares for him. Cute baby seals grow up, however, and once Andre is larger, he is harder to manage. His antics amuse many people and draw attention to the town, but the fishermen who make their living there aren't so amused. One of them in particular is upset because the media attention to Andrew causes Tina's father to get the coveted job of harbor master, a job the fisherman wanted.
