Overview
A high school student, Jake, who is pulled from Iowa to Florida by his brother's budding tennis career. Jake doesn't do well in the new school right away because he has a short temper, but he is introduced to Mixed Martial Arts by a new friend, Max. Jake is introduced to a local gym, where his anger proves to be too much in the beginning. Jake's main competitor, Ryan, views a video where Jake wins a backalley skirmish and challenges Jake to an MMA competition. Ryan is the champion of this underground fighting match. Jake initially says no until Ryan brutally beats Max and leaves him at Jake's door. Jake accepts the invitation to fight and winds up beating Ryan in the parking lot. He wins the respect of everyone at school, including Ryan.
