Overview
A kindly but clueless widower is the father of an unruly brood of children. One day, the mysterious Nanny McPhee turns up at his door, promising to set things right. She must improve the behavior of the children, but that will also take some involvement on their father's part. Nanny's methods are unconventional and sometimes traumatic for the children, who do not trust her initially. However, they soon warm to her, and as their behavior improves, so does her appearance, which is quite frightful on the day she arrives. She needs to do her work quickly, though, because the whole family is threatened by the officious intentions of wealthy, dour Great Aunt Adelaide, who intends to break the family up if they don't shape up.
