When she is just a little girl, Jill Young adopts a baby gorilla in Africa and raises it herself. Joe grows into a huge but gentle creature, and they live happily until a promoter named Max O'Hara goes to Africa on a safari. After Jill saves the gorilla from being captured, Max talks her into taking Joe to America and becoming a show business duo. Initially, the spotlight dazzles Jill, but it doesn't take her long to realize that it is making Joe miserable. She tries to get out of her contract so that she can return to Africa, but Max convinces her to do a few more shows. After Joe is given alcohol, he goes ballistic, and Jill must save him from being executed. |
