Tomboy Mickey is an orphan girl whose father was once a gold miner. The mine he worked has not been producing for many years, and Mickey lives on the charity of her guardian Joe, who used to be her father’s partner. A mischievous girl, she is growing up wild with mostly animals for friends, and Joe decides it’s time she learned some civilized behavior. Mickey is sent to live with her wealthy Long Island aunt. At first the aunt is nice to her, until she learns the gold mine is defunct. Then she puts Mickey to work as a maid. Mickey’s natural sparkle attracts the attention of Mr. Thornhill, a wealthy mine owner whom the aunt hopes will marry her own daughter. |
