A street hustler tries to find the answer to an important question during his journey through life in the tough ghetto streets. During three paramount days, Caine goes through the trials and tribulations of dealing with racism, having unprotected sex, and being influenced by negative friends and mentors. He visits his grandfather to gather some information on growing up and making it out of the hood. He visits one of his mentors, who he believes is his reason for wanting to better his life. His friend O-Dog is constantly having brushes with the law. He is not planning to improve his life in the least bit. Throughout the journey, several people ask Caine whether he cares if he lives or dies, and he searches for the answer.
