In a hilarious spoof of the traditional Dracula, “Love at First Bite” takes us on a comic tour of the Big Apple as Count Dracula tries to find a bride. Dracula and his sidekick Renfield are constantly running afoul of modern city life with oddities like efficiency apartments and toilets. Dracula’s love interest, Cindy Sondheim, falls for the tall dark figure in a fancy suit. Cindy’s fiancé is Dr. Jeff Rosenberg, a descendant of Van Helsing, Dracula’s nemesis and longtime foe. Determined to end Dracula’s romance with Cindy, Dr. Rosenberg tries all the traditional remedies with comedic consequence (“three silver bullets through the heart”…“No, that’s for a werewolf!”). An opening disco dance sequence makes this one of the most memorable Dracula characters ever. |
