Overview
Seymour Krelborn is a gentle botanist who has spent his life in the employ of Mr. Muchnik, the only father figure he has known. While his boss treats him callously, he still feels that the florist shop is his home, particularly because of Audrey, another employee who works there. Audrey is sweet and soft-spoken, but she has a knack for getting involved with abusive boyfriends; her latest, a dentist, is particularly sadistic. Seymour's fortunes change when he finds a strange plant during an eclipse. He raises it, and it becomes a sensation with newspapers and television shows. However, he soon discovers that the plant needs to eat people in order to survive. How long can he defy his conscience and keep this grisly menu going?
