Overview
The crew of commercial spaceship Nostromo are awakened from cryo-sleep because of a signal from an unexplored planet. After the crew finds a crashed alien ship, they search for survivors, but only find a dead pilot and a room filled with odd-shaped objects. Unknown to them, the signal wasn't a distress call, but a quarantine warning. Each object is an egg containing a deadly parasitic alien. When one of the small aliens latches onto a crew member's helmet, Warrant Officer Ripley insists they follow quarantine procedures, but science officer Ash disagrees and allows the outside crew members to re-board so he can attempt to remove the alien. All too soon, the crew discovers to their horror that they haven't actually seen the alien's true form...
