Overview
A sudden truck accident frees Alice Hyatt from a long, unhappy marriage. She decides to realize her long-held dream of becoming a professional singer in California. Alice and her son Tommy only make it as far as Phoenix before their funds dry up. She runs into trouble in Phoenix when she becomes involved with a married man and has to leave town immediately. Alice is reluctant to let people in after her bad experiences, but when she finds a job as a waitress she begins to make new friends and meets a handsome rancher.
